【中学３年 英語】別子山を英語で紹介⑩(最終回) ツガザクラ
“Tsugazakura” is a famous ground flower in Besshi that looks like very small "sakura".
Besshi’s “tsugazakura” grows at around 1300m above sea level. That is a lower elevation because normal “tsugazakura” grows at around 2600m above sea level. Recently, Besshi’s “tsugazakura” became a natural treasure of Japan because it’s very rare for them to grow in such a low area. I am proud of that as a Besshi Junior High School student.
By the way, there is also another plant that is similar to “tsugazakura.” It is called “akamono.” The plant has a similar look but the leaves are different. “Akamono” has large, thin leaves but “tsugazakura” has thick leaves that look like sticks.
Thank you very much for reading our articles. We hope you have become more interested in Besshi !
